Rep point time limit.
Does anybody know what this actually means:
"You are limited to enter only reputation comments for this user until time period is over." I could have 10 "clicks" left and for certain users, I still can't give them points despite the fact that the last time I gave that person points was nearly 48 hours ago. How long does that "time period" actually last? Is it different in different situations? I seem to arbitrarily see that message; for some people I don't get that message even if I just gave them points a few minutes ago. It almost seems random.

They need to be out your last 10 repped list before you can give them rep again.

Oh I see. Well, I have another one I can't figure out either. Why is it that sometimes when I give negative points, it takes off the number I chose, but other times it only takes off half that number? |

When you give -ve rep, it should only subtract half the amount suggested. For example, if your rep power was 100 and you disagreed and selected 100, it would only subtract 50 from whoever you were disagreeing with.

I had thought that was always the case as well but I wanted to subtract 10 from somebody earlier, so I put -20, and it did -20, not -10... |

Strange, it should only subtract half. No matter though seeing as how it was a disagree !

i think the rules have changed so that you can rep someone again after at least 10 reps to other people or 15 days since you last rep'd this person Quote:
if i read the rules correctly, i think you can only give a negative rep to someone up to half the rep you have yourself, so if your rep is 41 then you can negative rep up to -20 |

Ohhhhhh... that makes sense. Come to think if it I've never tried any number greater than half but less than the max. |
