Could someone tell me how to give a member reputation power?

Did you check the FAQs thread? The one with the link at the top of the page.

I'll give you a hint, it's beside the "Report Bad Post" icon.

Hint #2: It's not the number of the post either. It's somewhere between the report bad post and the number of the post. You figure it out.

Yeah I understand, I was just trying to elaborate on Dot's post. CJ answered it the way it was supposed to be answered. Reading the FAQ. Why can't we flame noob's that don't read the FAQ's? Do they think their questions are new? Sorry, I just disagree with your disagree. Because if you are new and you have a question that is pretty common around here then read the FAQ. That's what it's there for. Guess I will just watch my mouth around here, but this is a "Suggestions and Feedback" forum right? I am suggesting that all noob's read the FAQ and my feedback to them if they don't isn't very nice.

Yes, and maybe the OP did read the FAQ's when the joined but by the time their solution was solved they had forgotten about it. Not all new members 'thrive' on reputation points. Maybe their problem had been solved and just wanted to try and repay the member/s who helped them along the way.
I understand that not all new members are quick to read the FAQ's, but if new they step out of line, then mods/admins will deal with them appropriately. |

While I agree that a good RTFM every now and then could be in place, I like to follow up on it with a nudge. That's saying "look, I'm helping you, but help yourself too".

I think the first two replies to this thread answered my question. Your 2 cents really wasn't needed. I think it would be a great idea for you to watch your mouth. |

You are so right. A couple of members really helped me out on an assignment and I wanted to repay them by giving reputation points. I did, briefly, read the FAQs when I joined. I guess I overlooked the 'reputation power' part. Thanks everyone that helped. ![]() |
