Reputation without agreement
I'm curious if anyone has given thought to being able to give reputation points to posts without having to explicitly agree or disagree.
There have been more than a few occasions where I would have given the thread starter points just on the effort he had made, but did not want to agree b/c his/her approach was technically incorrect, and did not want to disagree b/c he/she was just simply asking, and that's not something I would disagree with... Just a thought... It seems the system is built to give repute to only good answers, and not good questions.

I don't see much call for it, personally. Why not agree and cite your misgivings in the text? IE

I would just leave the rep system as it is. I know sometimes I don't even leave comments when repping.
I don't think that rep power is something to be taken too seriously anyhow in my opinion. ![]()
