Retrieving urls blocked
Hi, is there any way for the mods to retrieve urls blocked by forum rules and post those themselves?

That is a good idea, but most people that have posted a worthwhile (non-spam) url
will find a way around this: by posting again or PM'ing someone. I agree though, it can be a bit of a PITA when the url's are blocked. However, I see why it is done though and can see the justification for doing so.

That would be an excellent idea. In the anti-virus forum first time users regularily post Hijackthis logs and with the url blocked it can be hard to know if you've really gotten rid of all the malware.

if it's blocking the url, why not just hamfist the url with a regex
s/http:\/\//dontthinkso:\/\// s/./,/g; then if a mod feels the need to readjust, at least the url will be 'sort of' ready

does a url still get blocked when it just sits there as text instead of an active link ? because if it doesn't then you can look up the url yourself if you want to

We are happy with the way it works now - spam has really decreased substantially. We still get some idiot spammers but we are noticing less.
