The How to Post a Question thread - missing in some topic areas
I note that this thread is not at the top of all topic areas. Perhaps it could be added by a moderator who would have access to all those forum areas where it is missing?

It's added on a per forum (area), the mods are the ones that add it if they think it's needed. Some forums it doesn't seem to be needed, I'd say message the mods of the forum in question and ask them to add one.

Ideally, there would be one generic thread covering the basics, and it would be in the Rules/Guidelines forum. Then, each forum would create their own, as needed, that would first link to the one in the Rules/Guidelines forum then add forum specific information.
So the use of [PHP] tags would not be listed in the generic thread, but it would be added in the thread in the PHP forum. I've wanted to do this for a while, but I don't have that much time.
