The irony, I don't think there's a mod for this forum yet

I don't see a problem with this. I have deleted posts in the past. I remember one last week that I deleted because I didn't read the previous posts carefully enough and didn't realize that someone posted exactly the same thing about two posts earlier. I wouldn't have cared if it stayed though.
As you will have to live with what you post, think of it as an exercise in being more careful when you post. We keep complaining (from various news stories, etc.) that poeple don't take responsibility for their actions, especially parents. So let's train ourselves to live with our "offspring". As for those accidental double posts, don't hit submit twice. In my experience, when you hit submit, the post is posted, regardless of if there are complications in refreshing. If you think it may not have posted, check before you hit submit again. Oh, the perils of a DevShedder. [/rant] Above all, have a nice day! ![]()

An answer given too quickly methinks.
Up until Balaam, we had the right to revoke our own posts, /start sarcasm now this right has been taken away, we just sit down, shut up and take it. I think this is endemic of the apathy that exists the rest of the world over. /end sarcasm ![]() Nobody died for this right, but it's revocation is going to add to the unpaid mods' workloads. It's simply my opinion that this is an overreaction. Original versions of Bulletin Boards may not have had delete functionality at the outset, but that functionality was added to the level of granularity where it could be optional depending on user type. And that developement has been switched off because of the acts of a puerile M$ loving individual. Quote:

On a message board that you don't own, nothing is a right. Everything, including deleting posts and even posting itself, is a priviledge. With all due respect to you, if you want "rights" on a any forum, create your own. Nobody died for the priviledge because it's not worth it. It's barely worth the length of this thread. Don't take any of this personally. I do respect you, but this really isn't that big of a deal. |

Edit your post and remove all text. If it's below the minimum number of characters, type "((deleted))" or something. Which right has been taken away? - The right to delete whole threads possibly containing posts of other users. Thanks for your understanding. @cybersaga - exactly my point. Thank you, I'd rep++ you but seems like I just did... M.

If we don't have the right to delete our posts, then so be it. These things happen. It's not worth arguing about !

Argh, can we quit this now please? It's not "so be it". Your basic assumption is simply false. You still can delete your posts, just like before! Quote:
