The rep system sucks

I spend most of my time in the perl forum. Frequently there are very good posts by other users that I would like to give reputation to; however, I too often get the message "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to.....". I hate this. My forum audience is already small and the frequent posters that deserve reputation are even smaller. Is there a way to fix this? I don't have the time or the desire to read through dozens of lounge posts looking for rep worthy candidates; instead I will resort to picking the first user I see and giving them rep (deserved or not) just so I can meet the "be a slut" requirement.

Ok fine, you convinced me to help you out. You can rep me whenver you need to drop some excess points.

The rep system was created to feed the trolls, despite the warning in my signature.... because of this, the troll population has grown and prospered. Do not be alarmed, this is to be expected, and rest assured that I am taking as full advantage of the situation as possible

I can't find the actual post, but did the admins not change the rep system where by there is a timer on it and you can give rep to the same person after a certain number of days instead of having to 'slut' the rep around ?? Don't know how much use that would be to raklet though ?

reputation giving restriction per person expires 15 days after it is handed out. you can rep the same person as many times as you want provided there is 15 days between.

You could make a mention in the thread spotting thread here in the lounge.. or the I want to thank thread, i guess if you want some one else to rep them for you.
