Page 2 - Username

I start wondering why I have such a unique name...
If I had something like computer, it's hard. with something like my name right now, it's a bit hard.

Plus, with the 30 day limit now, I can't edit my own mistakes without bugging other people.

Been doing/saying things you shouldn't have...?

Why dost thou wish to be anonymous? I would think a unique moniker wouldst be a good thing...

Well, I don't think it's a good thing. That's just how I think.

Well, I googled your nick and came up with no defaming data. Mostly it seems you're an active contributor to such things as encyclopedias and geek/tech communities ... go figure ;-]

I pretty much want people to know who I am. I have nothing to hide. You can find out all sorts of things about me on the internet, I'm sure, and I really don't care if you do because ... well, I have nothing to hide. Moved to san francisco in 1991. I tell you about what I do at work, but not my employer only because I don't want them associated with me [and not the other way around] :-) Seriously ... but that's not hard to discover either. I wrote the freeware program magicdb, there's some vst synths about I created if you try really hard, I've participated in a large number of music related sites, and I smoke ... there's my bio! :-)

Anyway, what I hate the most is Google's Supplemental Results.
They don't get updated so, even if you have nothing there anymore, it's still in Google's db...

Only two big places I contribute are DevShed and Wikipedia. But Wikipedia gets mirrored way to often and both DevShed and Wikipedia virtually have every single page cached in Google...

Man, I wish I was as carefree as you are medialint. You have 7 times as much results returned in a google search, and you are so free with your personal information. I guess I have this paranoid feeling that this thing is gonna haunt me back when I grow up.

Something like that. But regardless of how that is, I'm changing my usernames.

The only place i have a different username is slashdot, and that's only because someone stole my name there.

Seriously, just let it flow, anyone who wants your info can find it anyway, so don't worry about it.

Yeah, by the time you reach my age people on the internet tend to become the least of your concerns. I'm not afraid of anyone showing up at my house, I may have people that don't like me online but I don't think I've made any enemies that would physically stalk me. And if they did ... did I mention I live with a pit bull? ;-) Aside from that I really don't know why I'd need to be paranoid, really ...

instead of trying to hide, maybe you should just not say anything you don't want people to associate with you.
