A redirect would be a one time thing, but I agree it's not needed.

I dont really think its necessary - we have never had www.forums.devshed.com redirect, also if we did it for devshed we would have to do it for all 6 of our forums and then its another 6 dns records - seems pointless and a waste of dns records imho

I never use www wherever i go on the web, what's the point in typing the extra 4 letters (or 3 and a dot)?

Same here, except as a last ditch solution when something isn't loading.

I don't think its nessesary at all, and doesn't www.forums.devshed.com seem waaaaay too long to anyone else?

I think if someone can't understand that they should go to forums.devshed.com not www.forums.devshed.com (especially after a few attempts at loading the ww. equivelant) I question wether they have anything more useful than "CaN you mAKe My COdE work PLZ?!?!?!oneoneonetwo!!!" (no there isn't any code attached, :P) to contribute? Ahem, anyway, sorry for my cynicism....

Seriously, I don't know anyone who still prepends "www." to the URLs they type....if they say they can't get to it simply tell them to stop prepending the www. if they still don't get it, well......And I doubt one day of not being able to access the forums will kill anyone, since they can just ask you the next day...because only people who are told via word of mouth will have this problems, sicne the search engines all point to the right place, as should all links....

I think theres no need to create any more work for the admins, especially for such a pointless 'fix' if you can call it that.....
