I need a good hard drive diagnostic tool. I don't care if it's free or not. I would like something that takes a really long time and requires a boot disk of some sort.

The manufacturers of the drives usually have diag tools at their sites.
With these tools (Fujitzu, Maxtor, Western Digital etc.) they usuall have an advanced I/O test that lasts for several hours depending on the size of the drive. This should do. On a side note... I just bought a 160 GB 8MB cache Maxtor drive from Staples yesterday that was $109 after the $40 mail-in rebate...sweet! |
