Free/Cheap DVD Encoder?
Does anyone know of a good (preverably free but if it's not too expensive a non-free is good as well) DVD encoder to create .vob files for a DVD-burner? Friend of mine has one and wants to burn his digital vacation movies (among things) on it and would like a free/cheap one if possible... I tried searching on sourceforge but couldn't really find one there and even if I found one wouldn't know if it worked ok... so, experience somebody?
Thanks for any info!

I used this for vcd menus two years ago. Says it supports SVCDs as well, which is kind of close to a DVD (??). TMPGEnc can encode (for free for a month) into MPEG2 (the codec for dvd/svcd).
Are you coming from raw video that you want to break into chapters and make nifty animated interactive menus, or something simpler or grander? Also, check out some of the guides at http://www.doom9.org/ as they might be more what want. |
