In Brief: AIIM to develop SOA framework for iECM (InfoWorld)

InfoWorld - AIIM (Association for Information and Image Management) announced a project to develop a service-oriented architecture (SOA) framework for interoperable Enterprise Content Management (iECM). The project aims to develop standards to address the growing need for a common integration layer between different ECM-related systems and applications. A committee has been formed to create a common set of interfaces for accessing, exchanging, managing, and integrating structured and unstructured content within a secure environment. AIIM will take into consideration efforts from OASIS, the Java Community, and others as it drafts an international standard, which will then be presented to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
