Qwest to boost MCI bid to $8.5 billion (USATODAY.com)
USATODAY.com - Qwest Communications International is adding nearly a half billion dollars cash to its bid to acquire MCI, offering a total of $8.45 billion to break up the long-distance communications company's $6.64 billion merger deal with Verizon Communications, a source familiar with the matter said Wednesday.
