Changing password to unlock CDE
All:
I am running CDE on a Sunblade 150, running Solaris 8. When I click on the "lock" icon to lock my screen, I get the appropriate msg: "Display locked by user client3, enter password to unlock". The problem is, I can unlock the screen using "any" password (no matter what I type in and hit enter) or simply hitting the enter key.
I change the password for client3 on the workstation, the change is reflected in the /etc/shadow file but the problem continues.
A snippet from the nsswitch.conf is as follows. indicating /etc/passwd is being used.
passwd: files
group: files
hosts: files
ipnodes: files
I am wondering now if the CDE has an access file elsewhere that controls the unlock feature.
I would like to change the password, lock the workstation and use the new password to unlock, properly securing the workstation when not in use.
Any help is appreciated.
