converting from excel into text file
i am a unix environment and i have a excel(.xls) file to be converted into text(.txt) format. is it possible? i dun wish to have too many human intervention.

I've just tried "strings" on an excel file that I ftp'd to a UNIX server. No surprise that it was useless.

I'd guess you'd have to save the worksheet as a text file, maybe delimited, first...
