Hi, I am having trouble figuring out how to use egrep.
I have to find files in a directory in which the characters kmag occur in order on one line, but possibly with other characters in between. If you could help me out that would be great! thanks!! ![]() |

you could generate a regular expression that looks for the following
Code:
any number (or zero) of not letter 'k' followed by letter 'k' followed by any number (or zero) of not letter 'm' followed by letter 'm' followed by any number (or zero) of not letter 'a' followed by letter 'a' followed by any number (or zero) of not letter 'g' followed by letter 'g' followed by any number (or zero) of other characters If you use google to search for regular expressions, you will find examples of how to fill in these elements.
