Make install error
Hi,
I'm attempting to install the AMOS package, as well as the UNIX gmake tool, and for both am getting a similar error at the make install step. make error: cd glob; make libglob.a make[1]: `libglob.a' is up to date. /Users/lhug/Programs/MUMmer3.20/install -c make /usr/local/bin/make.new make: execvp: /Users/lhug/Programs/MUMmer3.20/install: Permission denied make: *** [/usr/local/bin/make] Error 127 AMOS error: /Users/lhug/Programs/MUMmer3.20/install -c -m 644 'utility_AMOS.hh' '/usr/local/include/AMOS/utility_AMOS.hh' /bin/sh: line 1: /Users/lhug/Programs/MUMmer3.20/install: Permission denied make[3]: *** [install-amosincludeHEADERS] Error 126 make[2]: *** [install-am] Error 2 make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 for both it appears to be calling the path for my MUMmer utility, leading me to believe I've messed up a path variable somewhere... but I can't find it, or fix it. Any help would be very much appreciated! Laura |

Don't you think that maybe it's just a "permissions" issue:
make: execvp: /Users/lhug/Programs/MUMmer3.20/install: Permission denied? ![]()

Hi,
no, turns out it is a path variable issue within make. I've sorted it out, but thanks so much for the input! cheers, Laura |
