netscape problem on IRIX 6.3
Hi!
For first, I have worked with unix (linux and irix) about 5 times in my whole life. OK, now its hopefully an excuse for my probably stupid question. I downloaded netscape communicator 4.61 (should work on irix 6.3) and installed it. There were no installing windows or something like that. The files were copied to somewhere and (!) deleted from the setup directory. The only two I had after all are a log and txt files. No problem! But now I don't have any ideas where to find the executable file and how to launch it. I've found a netscape folder in /usr/netscape or so. Anyway I can't start any of files in there. Please help me! How can I start damned Netscape Communicator??? Thanks a lot! |

There should be an executable in there called netscape. Run it like this:
Code:
cd /usr/netscape ./netscape & This will hopefully launch Netscape. If it doesn't, then post a list of the files in that directory, along with their permissions (you can do this with ls -l in Linux, not sure about IRIX though...). Hope this helps.
