'nice' command ,is it useful for...

    Hi

    i have a quick question:
Is the ‘nice’ command useful on a multi-CPU UNIX system?

    If so, why?

    Thank you

It is if you want to be nice

Seriously, your question is a bit vague but I'm guessing you're wondering if it is worth having a process give up CPU if there is plenty to go around. That all depends - is there always going to be enough to go around? Plan for the day when there isn't now and if your process can handle running with a lower priority then do so.
