run a shell without cron possible?

I have a shell I would like to execute every 5 minutes or so. But, my ISP does not support cron. Is it possible to run a script every so often without using cron?

You could use a perl script to do it then and leave it running in the background.

DISCLAIMER: Most sysadmins hate long running processes and will probably kill one, if they don't know what it does.

while [0 ]; do <script_name_here>; sleep 300; done &

do not forget the last "&" as it will put your loop in the background.
