Script to remove duplicate emails
The story in a few words:
My /usr partition was full. Mozilla was running. Now I have some 2,000 "new" email messages, all of them are duplicates. I searched the Mozilla site, this problem has been posted at least 10 times, but the developers don't seem to be interested in fixing it. Doing some investigation, it seems to me that the mails are in standard unix mail format (I can open them with "mail -f" too). Q: Does anybody know of a pre-made script / program to remove the duplicates? Thanks, M.

Do a Web search for the Perl script expire_mail.pl. This
script works with the standard mbox format to delete mail older than a certain number of days but it should be easy to modify it to do what you want. |

Thanks. I found it and will look into this later.
My PERL is a little rusty, but I think I should get it done tonight. I will post my results here then. M. |
