Solaris Search & Highlight

When I "more" a file in Solaris 2.6 and search the file using "/word", the search word is not highlighted.
Is there a way to highlight the word I am searching for?

Not with the "more" that comes with your pretty old Solaris 2.6. Your best bet would be to compile your own version. It will require a few other libraries too like an update libcurses.

you can try using:

less filename

This will highlight search strings and allow more powerful searching eg. ignore case etc.
check the man pages for all the details
