    If you need to see the biggest files first. Use this. This will list the files that has more than 20 MB size.

    find / -type f -size +20000k -exec ls -lh {} \; | awk '{ print $9 ": " $5 }'

    I was referring to the post by webhostingdir that seemed to be attempting to show anything but what you (the OP) wanted.
    Initially you asked for sizes of directories in descending order of size.
    The last sugegstion by webhostingdir would show FILE sizes (NOT directories) ONLY over a give size and NOT sorted. Somehow I assumed that was not what you were after. Apologies if I was wrong about that as my crystal ball is in for mending!
