tar: cannot open: OOo_1.0.3.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar

I downloaded Open Office from one of their mirror sites and when I try to open the tar file with the following command;

tar xf OOo_1.0.3.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar

I receive the following message;

tar: cannot open: OOo_1.0.3.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar

When I use this command;

"tar -zxvf [tarball name]".

tar fails to recognize the switches running SCO 5.0.7

What to do?

O.K I solved opening the tar file by first gunzipping the file and then using the following command switches.\;

tar xvf OOo_1.0.3.1_LinuxIntel_install.tar
