Using Apache to Authenticate (SAMBA users)
Hi all,
is it at all possible for me to get the following working so that Apache can authenticate users of a SVN Subversion Repository with the following setup? - SAMBO on Unix (Where users login accounts are stored) - Users on Windows Machines (XP) - Apache on Windows Server 2003 - Subversion on Windows Server 2003 (will reside on same server as Apache) Obviously, the Apache module mod_auth_pam is Unix specific, so is there anyway I can use this setup so that Subversion can use the users Authentication credentials that are on SAMBA to authenticate against Subversion via an Apache module? Thanks Tryst

I don't understand what role apache is playing in your idea.
Setup SVN to authenticate using PAM, use a PAM module to authenticate against the samba server. Setup /etc/pam.d/svn to use this module. google for "pam_smb". I think this is what you need. But I am not sure if SVN supports PAM, also you might have to recompile it. Check the SVN docs first. HTH, M. (Moved to Unix Help)
