    Lookup a file


    Hi,

    I tried to find the path where the sqlplus is located by using the commands whereis and find but it did not display the path. Please see below. I wonder how you do it. Thanks.

    Code:
    $ whereis sqlplus
    sqlplus:
    $ find sqlplus
    find: cannot stat sqlplus

    Try this from home directory

    find . -name sqlplus

    Doing that from your home directory (or anywhere else) will only find files in or under that location so would not be, in this case, a lot of use.
