    Smile My Future In Unix

    Hi All,

I have made the decision that I want to start a fresh new career in IT, more to the point I would love a job as a Unix Systems Administrator.

My problem is I have no qualifications in this field. I was going to go to night school and do a course but there are no colleges around me that covers the subject.

There are however plenty of online courses on the subject but they are not cheap and I don't want to get robbed and dumped with a crap course and a qualification that means nothing.

I am going to get myself a book on Unix and start getting some experience at home, I have some old laptops I can practice networking and creating new users and such, but can anyone give me some advise on where to go on getting qualifications and something I can take to a future potential employer.

    Thank you very much

    John

You can help yourself quite a bit. Become solid with the coreutils
GNU coreutils - Core GNU utilities - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation
    by practicing with these tools.
