Hiding DB

Hi,
Iam a VB developer. I recently saw a VB application from which i wasn't able to find which database it is using. It is a stand-alone application. All I could see is some csv files in the application directory. I also see files with the following extensions - .idx, .cfg, .his, .map, .odb. There is a database server running in the task bar but, i couldn't gather much details from it. All i want to know is, how do you hide the database from the user & which database is this that iam seein'? Some tips is badly needed. Pls help.

you could actually hide the file. i'm assuming you are talking about ms access? with access you can easily just change the extension and it would still open it. you could always setup a db password just incase.

Hi,
in the case that iam talking, forget about opening the db, iam first of all not able to find any db related files apart from the file extensions i have specified. From what you have said, what i understand is that the mdb file should be residing somewhere in the computer but, iam not able to find any such mdb files in the machine. Anyhow, i would be grateful if you pls send me further details on hiding the db in case of access.
