Is there a way to get around this inconvenience?
Gentleman:
I just bought the upgrade version of Visual Studio.Net Professional 2003. I upgraded from Visual Basic 6.0 Professional. QUESTION: Is there a way to get around this inconvenience? I Format my entire computer approximately every 3 months, (the reason? lot of downloads, install demos, viruses, etc, etc.) Do I need to reinstall, once again, the OLD Visual Basic 6.0 Professional BEFORE I can install the new upgrade version of Visual Studio.Net Professional 2003? Do I absolutely need to do this over and oven again? Is there a way to get around this inconvenience? Thanks for your help Andy |

I don't have ViS.Net, but every MS product I've used as an upgrade allow you to put the original version CD in during the install process to validate eligibility for the upgrade. I don't know if the recent activation requirements will affect this.

sure there is, do you have an alternate hard drive to you can put these files to?
or why not just image the hard drive with it installed? or why not get programs to watch installs or notify of unused icons/files/dlls? Virus protection update enough? |

that's probably the way i'd go.
i can only recommend norton ghost, i use it to back up computers to a ghost server, it's pretty convenient plus you can go just strait to disk/dvd if that's the only option you have.... |

In the future please use an acceptable subject title. You can refer to the sticky thread at the top of this forum for more information on how to post a question.
