hello, i am interested in learning how to read the serial port in visual basic. I am already fluent in VB6/7. My objective is to create my own input device, read through the serial port, it will be a switch of some sort, have VB read the change of data flow through the serial port due to the switch being toggled, and have VB press a key on my keyboard (i think i know how to do that part), so i can use it for my flight simulator program.
I already have a device that plugs into my serial port and seperates the pins into individual wires, I just need to know what pin to send, how to do it (mscomm?), and how to have VB read when another pin has conductivity. Thanks, moeburn |

never mind, i found the answer to my own question. As a matter of fact, it answered every little last detail of my question to utter precise-ness, it even related shops i should buy things at in the same city i live in.
