Unhappy Page Numbering

I use a software at work that works in conjunction with VB. It appears if I want to do anything I have to go thru VB to get it done. How can I get reports to print out with page numbers on them. I am trying to get page 1 of X, page 2 of X.........etc. I wrote something and it kinda works, but not very well. I have to enter a FORMFEED code to get the pages to print and if anything changes on the page then the page numbers are messed up.............HELP!!!!!!!!!
