Recommended Books on VB6?
I'm an experienced programmer (mostly C/C++), but haven't done anything with VB since a brief stint in VB3. A project I'm taking over has some utilities in VB6, so I'll need to learn it. Unfortunately, the local community colleges are now only teaching VB.NET, which is not an option -- though I am in one of those classes now, not really knowing how much will be applicable to VB6.
Can you recommend any good books on VB6? Or conversely, any books to definitely stay away from? Last edited by dwise1_aol : October 1st, 2003 at 11:38 AM. |

When I was in college at Tenn. Tech - we used
"Programming in Visual Basic: Version 6.0" ISBN# 0-07231-1908 and "Advanced Programming Using Visual Basic: Version 6.0" ISBN# 0-07242-0243 both are by Anita Millspaugh and are pretty cheap on sites like half.com

A decent reference is Visual Basic 6 Complete by Sybex.
As fas as I know VB and VB.Net aren't compatible, .net takes it in a different direction that it was going in 6. |
