VB MS Access problem

Hi,
First, I'm not a professional developer, and have built my app through a learning curve, trial and error, so please phrase any replies in a way that an 'amateur' can follow!

I've built an app (patient diary and invoicing app) in VB within Visual Studio 10. It connects to an Access DB on the same machine, and works fine in debug mode within the Visual Studio development environment. I published the app and installed it onto my laptop. It starts ok, but as soon as I open a form that accesses the database a dashboard dialogue box opens and gives me the message below in blue. I've given the SELECT statement for the relevant table adapter in green, below that. The database is in the folder referenced in the connection string, and is named correctly. When I click 'continue' the textboxes etc on the form do not populate with the relevant fields from the database. My PC has Windows XP Pro, my laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Jason

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Either you're missing something essential in your win7 environment(connection strings, file permission, prerequisites for your app, dll's, etc)

Resolved

I realised the problem this morning. Schoolboy error, I'm afraid, nothing exciting.

Since the last time I published the app on my PC and installed it on my laptop I made a change to the structure of the MS Access table called by that table adapter, and didn't copy the new table structure to the instance of the Access DB on the laptop. I'd added a field, and it was missing from the old copy on the laptop.

The shame of it.

Thanks for looking.
