VB newbie queries?

Hi,

I am a newbie in VB and have to develop a big application for handling our subscribers in our company.

I will have to learn vb from scratch and develop the application. I was thinking of doing the development in VB6.

I would like to know how easy is it to grasp VB .NET than VB 6 for a newbie?

If vb.net is faster to learn and more effective than vb and if it works fine with sql server 200 then i will like to go for vb.net other wise vb6

Can somebody advise me on this?

Thanks and regards

Hitendra

I think it probably best depends on what languages you currently know.
If you don't know any, then just pick the one of you choice. Since you must start from the ground and work your way up it doesn't matter which one you choose.
If you know a previous version of vb (ie vb4 or vb5) then go with vb6, if you know C or C++ then go with .NET.
I have not used .NET yet, but it has been described in one of the threads on this forum as being easier to grasp if you know C/C++ than if you just know vb6. I can't back that up, but you can search this forum for more info.
