I got Visual Studio 6 just before .NET was announced, and I can't afford to buy an entirely new development package.
What I want to do is use winsock APIs or a socket class in VB 6, but there is no pre-defined socket class and when I try to use winsock in XP, it complains that I don't have a license to do so. How do I get VB/Windows to recognize this as a licensed component OR how do I get a socket class that works in VB 6 on Windows XP? Thanks again |

Catalyst has a free winsock component called socketwrench that might work for you.

The download is about 4MB. I hope the class isn't that hefty because one of my goals is to keep the application size very small...
