    Excel

I have an Excel document that utilizes quite a number of different Excel formulas. It has several sheets with some of them are hidden, which are referenced to perform calculations on the one visible sheet. preserving calculation. I want to present an Excel file online with no loss of functionality.

Excel is a client based application is how come.

You can post the file online but it has to be processed on the client's desktop. Once that happens you lose the link to the server.

So, the best you can do:

    1) Post the file online
    2) Someone checks out the file and places a lock on the server
2a) no one can check out the file until it is checked back in
    3) Client then makes changes in Excel on their desktop
    4) loads the document back to the server
    4a) unlocks for future downloads

Or, you can create a web application which emulates Excel, but is not, in fact, Excel and you're just mocking up an Excel document at that point. So your macros, formulas and such will only work if you program that into your interface.

Or, if all you want is to present it just give them a download link then they open it up on their own desktop.
