To write WML that can connect to MySQL, you will need to use a server-side web language, for example, ASP, JSP, PHP, Coldfusion, etc. I use JSP most often. If you want to know more about connecting to a database like MySQL using JSP, you can have a look at http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html and http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.0-doc/jndi-datasource-examples-howto.html (I assume you got some knowledge in Tomcat). If you use ASP, you may find this link http://www.aspfree.com/c/a/ASP/ASP-Database-Fundamentals-Part-1/ useful. Do some search with Google. You should be able to find plenty of tutorials.
