Discuss Can anyone tell me how to send SMS via ... in the WAP Programming forum on Dev Shed.
Can anyone tell me how to send SMS via ... WAP Programming forum discussing development for wireless technologies including WAP and WML. Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Wireless Markup Language (WML) are usually used to provide content to cell phones.

Hello.
I am working on an idea to send newsletters to my clients, an i want to send such not just as e-mails, but in the form of SMS messages to the Mobile phones or in some other form suited for Palm devices.
Please give me some idea of where can I find information on this subject.
I can guess that I must construct some kind of data and send it to the Mobile device for example via some Wap or SMS Gateway or something.
Please help mi with this thing.

SMS Gateway
it is possible to have an SMS Gateway on linux with mySQL.

I use
* Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon)Linux oracle.2question.com 2.4.21-4.EL #1 Fri Oct 3 18:13:58 EDT 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
* mySQL 4.0.18 (doesn't come with Redhat EL 3.0)
* PHP 4.3.5 (doesn't come with Redhat EL 3.0)
* had to install a few packages (imap, unixodbc)
* Kannel, Gnokii
* Nokia 6310

you have a test version i can try out? dont I need permission from a wirelss carrier/??? how does the sms gateway send a wireless message?
