Downloading images from wap browser

Have a slight problem.

my friend can directly download a file in his mobile e.g. he can go to : http://www.whatever.co.uk/1.jpg and the file comes down by using goto address on his nokia.

We tried to put a link on a wml file with the same file so we have :

<wml>
<card whatever>
<a href="1.jpg">Download me</a>
......
</wml>

he clicks "Download me" and it doesn't work. I didn't think there was any difference here but I must be mistaken. Can anybody shed any light on this ?

Thanks in advance.
Mox.

He's using the WAP browser to doawnload the file directly then trying through a WML page, it works directly but not from the WML Page. Can you use a standard anchor link to a jpg image in WML e.g.

<a href="http://www.whatever.com/pic1.jpg">download</a>

so it will download the file or am I missing something ?

thx.
Mox.
