Both WAP sites and web sites are hosted on ordinary web servers. But to serve WAP contents, you need to configure your web server with the correct MIME type settings. For example, the MIME type of the .wml extension is text/vnd.wap.wml and that of the .wmls extension is text/vnd.wap.wmlscript.
