Hello!
I am working on a WAP project that display's video clips on mobile phone browsers. I am a little struck though! I need to somehow detect each user's phone model so I can use the WURFL xml list to check if they can view video on their phones. Or is there another solution?! I am sure this has been done before?! Kind regards Matt |

Hi Matt,
You are using WURFL already - you have the detection part already... what exactly is the problem - don't you know how to use it. How precisely do you need to identify - is knowing it is a phone enough?

Unsure ...
I am a little unsure how I get information out of the xml document ... for example I browsed a page on my mobile and the following userAgent was returned ...
SonyEricssonW810i/R4CE Browser/NetFront/3.3 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 Ideally I would like to look up the model "SonyEricssonW810i" in the xml doc and find out if it can play video. Any ideas? I will be using classic ASP. Matt |
