Perl WML development tool?
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good WML development tool that supports Perl?
I'm currently trying out MobileDev, but finding it clumsy, particularly if there are errors in the Perl, as rather than reporting them, it just says "No response received". Thanks Sherratt |

Hi Sherratt,
I would recommend PHP for wap. I have built a wap site at wap.sedonaview.com. It's brand new and I haven't made it public yet. I have been working on it a lot so it may be down sometimes. Anyway, It's written in PHP and is actually an extension of a CMS product called Joomla. I have built in support for SMF and WAP 1.1 although there are a couple issues left to fix. Thanks, Darren |

Thanks Darren
I'm rather loath to change to PHP, as the data retrieval is all already written in a Perl module for my main website. It seemed to make sense to use the same module to produce output for wap. I also don't know PHP at all, so would have to learn another language. Hope someone can suggest a Perl wml development tool. Thanks anyway Sherratt |

Have you checked out / searched the perl forums?
Edit: I see you have already cross posted there... ![]()

Hope I did the cross-posting in the Perl forum correctly! I waited for replies from my posting here first, then explained in my cross-posting that I had already asked in this forum. I had already searched in this forum and Perl forum before posting.
