Question on cookies
I am using openwave emulator v7 for testing my wap page. I am creating cookies to manage a logon session and for some reason my cookies do not work. I was wondering if I need to do something special to to enable cookies on this emulator or how I can get them to work. Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

Don't rely on cookies for a handset -
they are very temperamental and inconsistent across devices in general. As for the actual emulator, I would check their support pages. http://www.thewirelessfaq.com/are_c...wap_environment Good luck.

Do you have any suggestions then on saving a users login and password. I originally though of a unique ID for the phone, but found out that was hard if not impossible to get from all phones. Then my only other thought was a cookie, which from what you said and what I read online isn't the most reliable since not all phones support them either. If you have any thoughts, they would be much appreciated, thanks.

Many phones store login page credentials.
Unique identifiers though are tricky ![]() especially with no further input from the user. |
