Question on DRM Enabled phones

Hi All,

I have got a question. I recently was using a trial sms gateway account testing and trying to learn about ringtone delivery .. What I noticed is that when ringtones or images are pushed to the mobiles it displays a padlock on it.

Am I correct in my assumptions that

1. The padlock means that it is forward locked as I cannot select that image or tone and pass it on in a message or bluetooth.

2. The sms gateway provider automatically adds DRM to all messages coming through the gateway.

3. Adding the DRM to ringtones, wallpapers that pass through the gateway is done by the gateways "software" for lack of a better word.

One thing I also noticed is that on my Motorola V525 and the samsung D500, the pushed content does not display any path to it on the server just the option to accept or download.. But on my Blackberry 7100Tthe uri, url of the image would be displayed.

4. If a mobile is not DRM enable does that mean the person might be able to forward on a tone or imge to friends.. etc... or the path to the image would be displayed in their phone.

One more thing. I downloaded the nokia internet toolkit and was having look around it. After reading a bit I am of the opinion that it could be use to create DRM forward locking for tones, images.. but I am assuming that you need to do it one by one.. I might be wrong... Can forward locking be implemented using php if your items and dynamically generated from a database.

Can someone shed some light on this for me please......
