Ringtone extensions
Hello,
what extensions do ringtones usually have? i saw on myxertones.com that if i visit the site from my phone browser and enter the code for a song and try to download it, it says that my phone doesn't support it (i have a blackberry).. and with my other phone (razor) i can download the ringtone. How can they tell which phone i have and are there diferent extensions for different phones? or can they all play mp3s? |

some other extensions are aac, mp4, amr, wma, ogg. The supported types depend on whether your phone supports polyphonic or truetype.
Polyphonic supports only midi files.

thanks for the reply. The other question is, how do they figure out what phone I have and whether i support it or not? is there a public database of list of phones and extensions they support? and how do you actually do that in WAP? is the phone model $ passed in the header? |
