Question simple WAP hit counter
hi i recently made a wap site, and i woundered how to put a simple counter on the page. i searched in google but could find anything. I am completely new to this wml/wap, but very experienced in html not in php. could anyone help me put a counter?

similar to this counter (which is free)

but make it compatable in WAP. the image it is in PNG format so phones cant take that.

You would be better off learning how to code a simple solution server side in something like php rather than calling a remote image which could slow your wap site down.

Also this way you wouldn't need to show an image as it could be done so you just log the click and don't show the user anything.

It would make a good project to venture into php with as it wouldn't be too complicated. You could even do it without databases and just update a file each time the page loads if you wanted to keep it really simple.

the problem is that php looks too complicated to simple html. cant learn it rightnow school is coming up. got a really hard 2yr course to do. called "IB" forgot the meaning. anyways thanks for your opinion.

I was coding apps in Perl and thought the same about PHP, oooh it's too scarey to take on, I'm too busy to learn another language, I've learnt Perl so why change. Then one weekend I really needed something I could only do in PHP so sat down and managed to pick up the basics over two days. I also know a few other people with similar stories to tell, it's not hard, the procrastinating is the hardest bit. Honest.

yeh... true... only thing is that i dont know where to start. I learnt wml (wap) for a couple of hours that was easy but with advanced coding and scripting like java, C++, perl, cgi i dont know where to start. in shops theyre big fat books on them. i thought thats alots to learn!
