Textfield problem

Discuss Textfield problem in the WAP Programming forum on Dev Shed.

Textfield problem
Hi there,

I want to have a textfield that looks like a textarea for user's to see what they input in the textfield. Cause in this case i allow the users to input more than 300 characters. Currently wml doesn't support textarea. Is there any way that i can allow textarea kind of look?

To answer your question, not that I know of - sorry.
Does it need to be in wml, what about wap2 / xhtml mp ?

Yah i'm coding in wml.Hmm cause i don't wish to proceed to advanced wap since this programme wishes to cater to low ended devices.

TBH, IMHO writing any length of text on a phone is a PITA, even with such tools as the dictionary. Only thing that I can think of is having multiple text fields and joining them when processing the form.

If i put multiple input fields the interface will be ugly. By the way can we set the input textbox to be borderless? That why i think i can put in the multiple inputs.

Which low-end devices are you talking about? Do you mean older devices? Because most (if not all) wap-enabled phones available today support xhtml.
