OK, you need the following:

-WAP gateway
-Web server
-Phone emulator

When you have all of these, you will be able to try out WML full time. Depending on what platform you are on, you will have to choose the tools. If you are on a windows platform here are the tools I used:

-WAPLite gateway
-Apache 1.3.12 Web server
-Nokia WAP Developers Toolkit 1.3 beta

Good luck

As I already said, I don't know about WAPLIte gateway, but the other toolkit you can find on Nokia's site. Mind you, you will need to register.

Link: http://www.forum.nokia.com/main.html

As for the gateway, try searching for it on Yahoo!! or Altavista. I think that is how I got to it.

Good Luck

There's a new article right here on DevShed that talks about all this and has a bunch of links to tools.

I found a program for Linux called Deck-it which is the PERFECT dev tool for wap. You can get it at PyWeb.com. It shows you the source right next to the browser and the actions it is taking below that. Great emulator!

What do i need the WAP Gateway for?
So far i simply used Apache configured to send an apropriate mime(content) type header with all .wml documents and it worked fine.
am i missing something important?
