wml advice request

hi and thanks in advance.

i am contemplating building a wap site and have searched for various software. so far i have got :

Waptor, for my code editing

infra view, for changing .jpeg to wbmp (which i might add is frustrating me because i cant figure out how to work it)

wapdraw, which i found is not a converter but an editor for wbmp images.

a) Are you going to use any server-side technoligies and create wap-sites "on-the-fly" or
b)Are you going to make static wml pages?

If the answer is a, then you should check out PHP - it can automatically convert jpg to wbmp's and creating pages with PHP is pretty simple, plenty found by Googling.
Check out particularly w3schools wml tutorials, and there is a good php/wml tutorial at phpbuilder.

thanks jabba i will be sure to check it out. i have one question though before i lose myself in google. should PHP be an application? or is it wml code as i have found with most of the tutorials i have looked at. i have looked at the tutorial on wapdrive and it seems (not that i would know) to me to be more instructive as you would expect a tutorial to be. i am sure that i can learn from this kind of tutorial. sadly however i think that wapdrive is for a the more advanced.

as far as am i going to make a wap site on the fly or am i going to make static wml pages. here is my plan and i hope that you might be able to give me a little advice on the best possible route.

in effect i want simpley to make a site that has member and user access with functions to chat, host forums, display photos of the members, possibly a downloads section. and similar things as to these.

i dont want to have a site code given as i feel this would be no help to me i would not know what im looking at and there for even if i did put it online i couldnt change anything about it.
