Question WML % vs. XHTML %?

Does anybody have numbers of what % of cellphones support XHTML, as opposed to supporting only WML? I'm developing a website for cellphones, but I'm developing it in XHTML. It would be nice to know if I should develop one using WML also.

Thanks.

I'd say include a wml version in there too, there are still millions of wml only phones active. As a percentage I'd think wml was far higher than xhtml though have no figures to know for sure.

When most people upgrade they hand the phone down to friend of relative so the old handsets stay in circulation.

Emerging countries often get older technology so globally wml still has it's place.

It means a bit more work to do the site but if wml looks like it'll be around for a few years to come it should be worth the effort.

Then again what's the geo and demographics of the traffic you're hoping to get? What are they likely to be using?

I don't agree with you on this line - "Emerging countries often get older technology so globally wml still has it's place.". It just depends on the person (rich, poor). E.g: When NOKIA released 3660 we got it just 1 week later

I'm stumped to think it took you ten months to come up with that reply.
